DoorDash Tipping Guidelines
How to fairly tip your Dasher for every delivery.
$3–5 Minimum Per Order
Always tip at least $3–5, regardless of how small the order is. This covers fuel and time for the driver's trip. On small orders where 15% works out to less than $3, use the flat minimum.
15–20% Standard
For most orders, 15–20% of the subtotal is the widely accepted standard. On a $40 order, that's $6–8. Dashers see your tip before they accept the order - a fair tip means faster pickup.
Tip 100% Goes to Dasher
Unlike some platforms, DoorDash passes 100% of your tip to the driver. There is no tip pool or management cut. What you tip is exactly what your Dasher receives.
