A quick guide to getting accurate tip and split results in seconds.

1. Choose your currency

Use the currency selector in the header. It applies to every calculator on the site - enter amounts in that currency and results update instantly.

2. Pre-tax vs post-tax

Most calculators default to pre-tax, which is the etiquette standard in the US. Switch to post-tax if you want the tip percentage applied to subtotal plus tax instead.

3. Calculate and split

Enter your bill, pick a tip percentage (or use custom), and set the number of people. The main calculator shows tip amount, total, and per-person shares. Use the Bill Splitter for itemized assignments.

4. Theme

Click the theme icon in the header to cycle system, light, and dark modes. The default follows your device setting until you choose otherwise.
